Cinelight Redhead 800W is a compact, lightweight, multi-purpose quartz flood/fill light, ideal for any location lighting applications. Open-Face lights, like the Cinelight Redhead 800W, tend to spill light everywhere due to the fact that the light emanates both from the bulb and the surface of the silver reflector, which makes them good fill lights.
The spherical shaped housing features an adjustable reflector for flood / spot control. The mechanism changes the globe's position relative to the reflector, so the reflector sends out a wide beam when the globe is close to the reflector and a narrower beam when the globe is pulled away from the reflector.
Designed to operate high temperature tungsten-halogen lamps, and are well suited for tight or confined spaces where maximum light output and beam spread are required for fill or flood lighting. Excellent for use in small TV studios or stages in schools and universities.
These lights make good bounce lights (directed into a white bounce surface) or can be handy for lighting the objects on the background set. To be used for lighting actors, a medium to heavy diffusion is needed to take down the intensity.
For use in television news coverage, and television film commercials as well as in motion picture and industrial film.

About the redhead 800 watts, does it have a dimmer so to adjust illumination intensity?

The Redhead 800 is without built-in dimmer but we have the suitable dimmer as optional accessory.

Hello! I was looking at the Redhead 800 watt. It says that at 3 metres you get 6500lx. Sorry for being ignorant but is lx lux? If at 2 metres you would get closer to 10,000?

Hi Nicki. The lx is the short of the LUX unit measure. The approx light output at 2m in spot mode is 7650 lux. Specs have been updated now.
